A new yacht for the Kings Fleet!
Heading for Greece next year
Stage 1
August 2024
On the 17th August, we travelled to Ireland and prepared her for the trip to the UK. Captain Guy Willson (From Living Water Mission) and a volunteer crew, Jake, set off 24hrs later, with a small weather window.
Unfortunately, with a broken alternator and the weather closing in, they had to divert to Padstow, Cornwall.
Considering the weather and various technical issues, we have decided to bring her back the rest of the way on a lorry.
This is booked for the 4th Sept and the confirmed cost including cranes, and derigging, has come to £2500 (inc tax) We have already had £2000 promised!
We don't have the balance for the transport, or funds for the refit at this stage, so please join us in believing for both, and if you are able consider making a gift here today.
Stage 2
Sept 24 till March 25
Stage 2, we will strip her out and fully assess what works are required, put together a plan and raise finances.
Our initial assessment is that we will need to spend between £12 to £15 thousand to get her back into ship-shape condition and ready for use, including this winters berthing.
(We will update this figure when we have had chance to carefully inspect her.)
This is with all labour being volunteered and purchasing almost all parts/equipment needed at trade rates.
Please pray for us to have the time between work comittments and some extra hands needed to complete this work!
Stage 3
April 25 onwards - Delivery to Greece!
We intend for her to sail in company with Tony and Patty with their yacht 'Kind of Blue' as they return to join Island Reach in Greece. Departing the UK next year in April and travelling through the canal network to the Mediterranean.
If you are interested in joining as crew for this trip, consider coming and volunteering some of your time, to help us prepare her!
Please keep us in your prayers and watch this page for more news 🙂
Thanks
Cameron and the Kings Fleet Crew.
