Vision and Mission:
To let the light of Gospel shine in the furthest and most difficult corners of the earth by using an ecologically and economically sustainable way of life and transport which will ensure access to these regions.
After spending the last two years in Zambia, the leadership of Overland Missions has asked that we take on the Pacific region, with Micronesia and Melanesia, and commence our work for the expansion of Gods Kingdom by sailboat.
This area is vast and contains many island groups. Many islands are incredibly remote and are for that reason neglected in many ways. In faith we have committed to reaching these islands with the good news that Christ lives and offers life abundantly to all those who accept! We will set out to find ‘the ones forgotten’, knowing that God is worth every mile traveled. The first phase of this new assignment is fundraising. We hope to have all the necessary finances raised before the end of this year so that we can commence work on the boat. This work contains, among other things, replacing the sails, changing the lines and pulleys (rigging), implementing an electrical system running on wind and solar power, a watermaker, placing a fridge/freezer, replacing the wooden elements on deck, purchasing emergency items (EPIRB, immersion survival suits, a life raft, etc.), and updating the plumbing.
Our boat is a 40 foot Bristol from 1980 that was donated to Overland Missions by a friend of the ministry.
