Providing basic healthcare to remote coastal villages of the Sea of Cortez, Mexico is a challenge. They have limited or no road access. The nearest hospital or dental clinics are over several hours away. For medical professionals to serve these isolated communities, they would need a place to stay and eat; no hotels and restaurants available at these locations. With ships, we can deliver basic healthcare to these communities and provide housing and meals for the volunteer medical professionals and crew.
The namesake of our organization, m/v (motor vessel) Amazing Grace is the flagship of the YWAM Ships Mazatlan.
Many communities in Mexico and the Caribbean can only be physically reached by ships and boats.
We focus on isolated islands and coastlines of Mexico and the Pacific Rim.
