Join us aboard SV Porpoise, our gracious 58 foot classic sailboat. You will experience the wonders of cruising the safe and beautiful waterways of the Inside Passage, one of the most pristine and spectacular places on earth. We have sailed these waters our whole lives and one of our chief enjoyments is sharing with others this special corner of the world.

Our aim is either to show you how to sail without the costs and pressure of owning and operating your own boat or to equip you to safely sail and cruise in your own boat. It is our goal for all charter guests to experience the joy of sailing, to receive the training to do it again, and to have fun while doing it.

“There might be nothing in the world that packs as many life lessons as the activity of sailing. It teaches teamwork, engineering, history, patience, oceanography, ecology…all in one fell swoop.” (American Sailing Association)  Porpoise is registered as a Recreational Boating School.  This means that there is an underlying sail training element in all of our charters, designed to teach our guests safety and competency while enjoying the marine environment. Both John and Lyza are Canadian Recreational Yachting Association  coastal skippers. John is a certified sailing instructor able to qualify candidates for competent crew, day skipper, and coastal skipper levels of competency.
