Sant’Agata Odyssey – Cultural Center

Since 2023, Arnaud Mishura has been the owner of Sant’Agata. He was trained by Jan Steven Johannesen, former Olympic coach of the Norwegian national sailing team, and anothermentor with a DNSEP in cinema.

Today, Arnaud leads the Sant’Agata Odyssey Society, combining maritime heritage, art, and cultural programs, and embraces every challenge with dedication and passion. A floating studio where each port becomes a space for creation, research, and exchange.

One Million Kilometers. That is the equivalent of 25 circumnavigations of the globe, or nearly 3 round-trips to the Moon. Above all, it is the phenomenal distance carved into the wooden frames of Sant’Agata, bearing witness to over a century of resilience, hard labor, and absolute freedom on the open sea.

You can book a guided visit aboard Sant’Agata Sant’Agata Odyssey is an open maritime platform based in Catania, centered around Sant’Agata. Sant’Agata Odyssey operates as an independent, family-driven initiative, offering insight into traditional seamanship, long- distance navigation, and contemporary maritime practices.

Onboard, visitors can discover the technical, operational, and cultural aspects of managing a historic vessel, as well as the experiences gained across 5,000 nautical miles
and 41 port calls.

Onboard Visit (approx. 45–60 minutes)

The crew will present the history, structure, and technical framework of the 109- year-old wooden sailing vessel.

During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to:

Explore the vessel – deck, rigging, and unique technical features of a historic wooden yacht.
Learn about navigation – long- distance route planning, seasonal and climatic adaptations, and crew organization.
Observe technical operations – hull and rigging maintenance, adaptations for extreme conditions (cold, heat, ice, wind).
Understand expedition insights – lessons drawn from 5,000 nautical miles and 41 ports of call.

Join the Sant’Agata project and take part in life aboard the historic vessel in Catania.
Volunteers assist with maintenance, technical tasks, and daily activities on board, becoming part of a dedicated
maritime community. In return, they gain hands-on experience of the vessel, its projects, and occasional sailing with the crew.
